Dr. Manuel V. Silao joined our creator last September 21, 2017. He was the chair of the department from 1988-1994. He was also the chair of the Philippne Board of Anesthesiology from 1981-1982 and the president of the Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists, Inc. from 1983-1986. He retired in 1998 after 38 years of service to the university. One of his significant contributions to the department is the modular system of training in the residency program. His legacy has changed the direction of the training program and will forever live in the department.
